            A Fundamental Rethink on Public Health Nutrition

in the 21^st Century

This one day conference will address big, global challenges - and offer solutions - to tackling diet related disease

It will debate the implications of current food policy on the health of communities and challenge those working in the food industry, government, public health and the media to commit to bringing about positive change.

It will review solutions for a stable healthy food supply and examine the health & ecological impact of food recommendations.

Keynote speakers include:

• Professor Phillip James, Chair International Obesity Task Force speaking on Food politics: what action is needed to ensure global food sustainability?
• Jack Winkler, Professor of Nutrition Policy, London Metropolitan University speaking on Challenges for the nutrition and sustainable food agendas.
• Dr Corrine Vaughan, Deputy Head of Nutrition, Food Standards Agency speaking on Action by the UK Food Standards Agency to promote healthier eating.
• Modi Mwatsama, Food & Health Programme Manager, Health of Mersey speaking on Fat, salt and cardiovascular disease - the '1, 2, 3' of prevention.

The conference will set the agenda for future debate on food and health.
